So proud of the work we're doing

Carrots, snow peas, pickling and slicing cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs, strawberries, blackberries, and hot peppers...

Today I was eating a salad and said to my co-workers "I grew this!"

Broad Appetit

In the spirit of keeping it local, this Sunday is Broad Appetit. It's a food festival on Broad St (several blocks following Belvidere towards Shockoe Bottom) featuring only local restaurants. There are demos (last year, I ate a bug as part of one!) and music and naturally, lots of delicious food. It's an inexpensive event with all items under $5 and a fun way to try out different restaurants around town.

Hope to see you there!

Produce for Sale!

Everyone, we're going to have produce for sale in the next two weeks. We will be doing delivery within the city and you can place orders on-line through our interactive price list. Once we have this created, it will be posted here and on our Facebook group. How can you argue with local, organically grown, and inexpensive produce delivered right to your doorstep!

We are also currently working on obtaining a booth at the South of the James Farmer's Market. That particular market is on Saturdays and will most likely be manned by yours truly.

A few of the things we will have available immediately include several kinds of lettuces, snap peas, snow peas, basil, rosemary, lemon balm, lavender, and various varieties of tomatoes.

In other big news, we are planting grapes this weekend! We have 4 different varieties and will "teach" them to climb up the fence that creates the border between Elaine's yard and our plot. These will not produce until next year, but it's still a very exciting addition of course!
